Hmm, where to begin? I can't remember all the animes I've seen, but definitely the best ANYTHING I've ever experienced was Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai (season one and two of the same show, but it's counted as two different shows). Just for animes, obviously Higurashi first, then, umm, Elfen Lied and FMA are probably tied for second. All the comedy animes I've watched don't get a rank but they're all pretty good.
HIGURASHI!!!!!!!!........ Gomen nasai..... I can't help it.

Ok sorry but hanyuu never showed me the title (he could not pronounce it) so he just referred to it as Umisho.
EDIT: I cant pronounce it ether.
