A couple of basic rules for our humble forum.
1. No personal attacks. You can make fun of each other, but know that some people might be more sensitive than you. If you think someone's gone to far in attack you, PM myself or ZX (or another mod when there are some) and we'll step in on your behalf.
2. No discrimination or derogatory terms. That includes, but is not limited to, every form on this list Derogatory words include things like the N word, derogatory terms for homosexual, etc. (these two examples are filtered by the forum, but context will be considered for other words used.)
3. No bypassing the forum filter. It's here to make the forum a nicer place. You may see me swearing occasionally, but that's only to make a point.
4. Try and use proper grammar and spelling. This isn't an IM program where someone is waiting for your reply, so take the time to make your post prettyful . You don't need pristine grammar, and short-hand notation and some slang are fine (especially if used in a funny way for the latter one).
5. No post-whoring. That is, don't repeatedly post just to increase your post count. Also, don't make one-word posts. If you agree with a point that's been made, don't post just to say that, we'll assume you agree if you say nothing. If you've something to add, go ahead. If you disagree, do that as well, buy say why you disagree.
6. No condoning or encouraging illegal or questionably ethical activities. Check with local, state/provincial, federal and international laws if you're unsure. (try google if you can't find them.)
7. This one is only a rule in the debates forum, everywhere else, it's a strongly encouraged guideline. When someone takes the time to write up an articulate response, ADDRESS EVERY POINT THEY MAKE. EVERY point. In the debate thread, if you don't do this more than once or twice, you lose the debate. Outside of the debate thread, you'll be called a troll and ridiculed.
8. No stupid ¿¿¿. Don't piss me off.
More to come.
