Titles

Does anyone have any suggestions for a title scheme, and by that I mean what your title (i.e. new member) is in relation to the number of posts you have.

I was thinking something along the line of a demo/devil schematic, probably drawing heavily on D&D.

Hmm, considering what this forum's about, D&D ranks would work quite well, though I wouldn't mind some anime and video game related ones thrown in as well. I guess that would kind of screw up the whole system though, as in, if you went from something like "knight" to "otaku", then to "Hardcore gamer", it wouldn't make much sense. Uh, can I ask, since I've never been an admin before, how much can you change the system of the titles? It'd be cool if we could do something like submit our personal choice in how we want our titles to go, as in groups such as "Anime Titles", "D&D Titles", and "Video Game Titles", with each one having different titles but one title equals another one in the other groups. I don't think I explained that well, but it could make people happy with their titles. I'm guessing that would make things really complicated, though, so I think maybe going with D&D titles is probably a good, overall idea that would please the most people on here, or at least, when we get more people on here.

Well, as far I know, we can only have one set of ranks. we can give custom titles to people who ask really nice though. I understand what you mean by different title sets, but I don't believe that that is possible. if you have an idea for a title system, write it up and we can do a poll after.

I find the idea of charging people interesting. But I don't think people would pay unless it was a large forum.

Hmm, depending on the price, I might pay for a custom title, but it would definitely work better on a larger forum if you wanted to generate an actually noticable amount of money, but the problem is that we need money to do things that would result in larger amounts of traffic.

Simplest solution to getting people to pay would be to allow custom colours into their titles as well. A good payment method would be Paypal since that's what most people use. When thinking about a system for titles, why not base it around what the forums mostly about. Currently it doesn't seem to be about DnD, as topics in other section get more posts from you guys, but as it gets bigger DnD titles might work. Also, try to make a good number of titles to save yourself trouble later. If all else fails, reword lower grade ones at higher parts.

It could go like New Member>Novice>Quick Learner>Normal Player>Regular>Veteran>Post Whore. ;P
